I choose the forester,

I would have liked the endeavour but since its not in the choice...i would happily pick up a forester...yes the car maynot qualify as an SUV to some but I've only chosen the best car which is available in this choice...

My gripes about the other cars.

Scorpio - Unresolved Handling

Safari - Accelerates just about as fast as an elephant...Lethargic performance.

CRV - Impractical, unreasonably expensive and only available in petrol.

Tucson - Dont know much about it, but certainly dont like its looks.

PS. I just love those pillar-less doors on the forester. And that all wheel drive is awesome and on an impreza platform seems impressive.

toyota buddy,

the point here is to vote for the best among the options given to you and not argue whether they are true SUVs' or not.

i chose the endeavor simply because it can seat 5 in more comfort than a forrestter !!

agreed the performance of the ford isnt as quick as the CRV but then i dont think anyone would time their 0-100 or go dragging in an SUV !!

the endeavor is the ost comfortable ad i agree with drifter's take on the other SUV's except that i like the tuscon's look but its unproven material.

and regarding the seats i guess that can be worked upon by getting seat covers that offer proper support .

so go for a drive Labo in all the SUV's and take whatever u feel comfortable with !! and yes let us know what ur decision was !!

cheers

where are u going that you'll need 4WD? unless u live in the boonies or paln to go off roading as a sport 4WD is not really required. if you want to seat 5 in comfort get a large sedan. if you need an SUV foa once a month trip to the hill stations then rent it. 4WDs drink a lot. Also no SUV will ride like a sedan. I tested the forrester against the corolla and octavia and the octi had the best ride (both are too cramped for 5 though). maybe the sonata or optra will offer more room.

BTW my vote went to the Forrester it is a great urban SUV. It even has it's own fan club.

if price is not an issue, go for x-trail!

nissan's 4WD capabilities are one of the best! and the crdi engine also shud be really good.

if price is an issue though, endeavour shud be best choice.

If price isnt the issue , why not the Prado ? now that Toyota has launched it with a Rs 35L price tag...seems a damn good buy and it has all creature comforts too !!
