congrats akeel. Do post the pics, specs and other details. Also mention what is your 'motivation' to buy the jeep. Is it traveling, experience of owning a jeep, off-roading, etc etc..

Hi

I dont want to rain on your parade but do you feel that a vehicle which is 14 years old would only have done 64000km?

Do run a check if possible with a good mechanic!

But from your later posts, the rate of Rs 1 lac seems a good deal.

All the best!

I am back home now after a drive from office, my office is about 50 kms up and down used the jeep today and it was wonderful, I guess would have to get used to it i used to drive a santro before and now a change it was my brother who is found of jeeps and he was the one who made me buy this... to let you know its great...

The person who had it has maintained it very neatly he is about 75 years now and told me that he used to look after this as a baby he was almost in to tears when he gave me the keys, he has written a book on this jeep he told me that he had bought a amby in 1961 for rs 9000 from showroom... this jeep costed him about 4lacs in 1994.. I new to all these and learning things...

I would be mostly traveling in this and also might go to off road some times but again would take help from you all as i am not used to and have never gone off road in my life...

ok now the details of this jeep
its a 4 wheel drive as they say for off roading and stuff (as i told you new to this)
AC, with hard top (no heating issues at all)
i will try and take a pic of under the hood a little later and post it...
He did give me few of extra accessories
1. System D clean (Diesel Additive) x 2
2. Engine Oil
3. Hose pipe x 2 (not sure what you call it, it goes from the radiator)
4. Fan belts x 4
5. Philips 100/90 Bulbs x 2
6. Break oil
7. Wiper Blades x 2
8. Manual book
9. Original key and duplicate key

Apart from this it has a 1st part insurance valid till next year for 90k... what more do i ask for i guess it is worth the money i paid for.... what do you all say...

Also one question that i have is this is a water cooled engine can we use coolant for this???

Yes you can !! you need to get a reservoir too for holding the coolant exactly like you get to see in cars...infact its suggested, if you plan to take ur jeep for off roads or tend to drive it in the city where you come across lots of traffic..!!

All the best !!

akeel, looks like you really got a god deal, considering what yoy have written about the previous owner and the MM540.

Looks like many first time jeep hunters getting really lucky in the 'jeep finding treasure hunt'. That's really great guys.

I hope you all take out your jeeps to the terrain it deserves and not let it run on tarmac only.

You definitely can. The whole point is to store a little bit of those coolant in the reservoir in case if your radiator develops a leak and is loosing out the coolants...
