About Versa

Hello all,
One of my friend has almost decided to buy a Versa. He is mainly attracted to the space(rather No. of seats) and price. Please give me your opinion on Versa. Why did it really fail? Is there any serious problem with it?
Thanks
Sivadas

there isnt anything serious with versa..its just that its looks and handling are not upto the mark.. though it runs on the esteem engine, dont ever think of driving it like esteem.. its too tall for that..

Thanks dceite. But is it really worth putting around 5 lacs on versa ? What could be the other options? I dont think my friend would go for Scorpio or Tavera(because of price).

Is versa a competition to Scorpio and Tavera? That's the worst ever outer design I had seen.

there ain't serious probs with the versa..looks are not exciting well thats about it..and when launched it had a pricing problem. now the pricing is at 4+ I guess...If your friend is ready to live with the style of the versa, go for it.
It is an MUV and hence not meant to drive like an esteem.

The Versa may be good for city driving where the speeds are less.
It seems like the Versa has a small wheel-base to height ratio.
What happens while cornering on highways?
Is it safe enough? Any Versa owners around?

SCARY!!!!!!!!!

My cousin, who also lives in DXB, bought one here to carry his extended family around on his visits home. Its great for pottering around town, but its uncomfortable and scary on the highways. You also get to know the road pretty well, even if you are a passenger.

I think, it may have the same dynamics of a Volvo bus, going by its shape, Narrow, long tall..

Expert comment if it could be different

Reason enough for me to never think of buying one. I think the same applies to the Omni also.

You could try PMming or mailing trrk (a member of this site). He would be able to give you feedback about the Versa.

Thanks all. Infact my friend is thinking of Vagon R/Santro now since a decent variant of Versa will cost around 5 lacs here. And Bolero is too big according to him(that also will be above 5 lacs I believe).

Hmm. Regarding the Bolero, I was under the impression that prices had dropped a bit. But yeah the Wagon R/ Santro seem to be better choices if he plans drives on the highway.

I guess the other option would be a used Qualis, If you could find a good one under 5 lacs.
