but the diesel safari is lot more drivable and fuel efficient than the petrol version and in suv's its the drivablity that matters not the 0-100 times

Thanks for that valid suggestion. In fact I was planning for the same but when enquired in the showroom they say it is likely to launched by the end of 2006 as they are more concentrating on the Innova. I play to buy a vehicle within the mid month of Jan 2006. Does anyone have any idea as to when the fortuner is to be launched.

Thanks for all the suggestions and help.

The CRV has to be the choice.. i have one and i have no problems tilll date and the mileage is pretty decent around 9 with a/c in city(manual).. never took it out of bangalore though. its more expensive but it has all the comforts.

This may help

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/34859-post14.html

I have spoken to a few Safari petrol owners and they sounded very happy with the vehicle. They didn't expect high mileage figures when they bought their vehicles and they weren't complaining on this point either.

spdfreak - er is the Fortuner out already ? I dont think so , so why the suggestion?

Girish, a DICOR Safari makes more sense (Steer can tell more as he owns one!) or if petrol you can look at CR-V
