I am not facing any problem in driving.

What is your suggesting guys?

Since you are not facing any issue, I would suggest you to not get any of the work suggested by SA. I have mostly found these SA recommend any thing without even slightest hint of the issue. Simply put if there is no issue no point in changing anything.

Like my friends Vento TDi, SA suggested to get the brake pads, front shock absorber, and other related parts to suspension assembly replaced. After viewing brake pads they were all good, as front brake pads can be easily viewed. Suspension, he isn't facing any issue so no point in spending over it.

Only a rubber part which covers the rear suspension was broken which we got it changed by paying for it. Suspension is covered till 6 months/10,000 kms and is not covered in extended warranty.

Can anybody please explain what a 'Stopper' is ? Im hearing it for the first time.

What SA mentioned as stopper is actually "Upper Strut Stop".

Thanks. I was in no mood to get anything changed since I was not facing any problem. But SA told me that shock absorbers are fine and only "Upper Strut Stops" are damaged. which costs around 1.6k for a pair including labor charges. So, I got them changed.

Sorry I couldn't post after I got my polo serviced. Luckily all the issues were addressed. Getting the services of an experienced employee did the trick I guess.
In my case the rattling from the rear end was from the rear seat assembly, the part which bolts the seat to yhe chassis. Rattle was actually a squeaking sound and was absent wheb there weren't any rear passenger. He got the bolts all tightened up. Now the squeak is gone.
But in your case I guess something is wrong with the suspension. Get it checked asap!.
The service advisor also diagnosed worn out lower arms in the front suspension and replaced it. Now the sound from the front suspension is noticeably reduced.
ABS warning light was on because of a failed speed sensor in the rear left wheel which was replaced. The sensor which failed last time was that of rear right wheel:Frustrati .
Total bill amount 10872 for the above mentioned jobs.

avi, please share the name of the senior service advisor @ evm. Thanks!

My two-year AMC for my Polo TL bought in '11 got over last year. Can I purchase an AMC for another two years now?

Taking it to the Chennai Whites Rd place, this time, instead of getting it picked up and delivered by Abra, their service place being very far from me.

Highline 1.6, Sundaram Motors, Chennai, 2nd annual service:

They kept the car for two days. Cost was just over 11,000. The Service Adviser suggested leaving out balancing/alignment due to my very low mileage. Still, nearly 3.5K is for various cleaning options that I did not really think about.

The cured the "sqeak" noise, which seemed to have come from a door rubber. Some small electrical part was replaced under warranty, but I have not understood what!

The cleaning was thorough on the inside, 8.5 on the outside, as chrome was not restored (not an easy thing to do!) to new condition.

The car is smoother and quieter, as is normally the case after a service, but I am not happy with the engine tuning, as the slow-speed pick-up seems to be a bit worse than before.

I will call up about this, and probably take the car back again --- also I forgot to tell about the fault with the horn which has lost its tone, until I got into the car at the end of the day. The SA said, just bring it in again and we will see.

The car was not finished until late in the day. Seats were damp from the cleaning. The staff were polite and friendly.

I am taking the car back next Wednesday afternoon, because I am disatisfied with the engine performance, and because having realised that I paid Rs.1,500 for "external beautification" I expect the chrome to be polished. I polished an inch of the admittedly filthy front grill just to prove that the marks do come off. I could do the rest, but its hard work, and I paid already.

Yes, I'm stupid having got all that paid stuff that was unnecessary --- but one lives and learns!

The upholstery is clean now, so I can spray it with the Scotch Guard that I bought in Singapore back in November. Yes, I know to allow lots of ventilation and not to breathe it.

It took two visits, but I think I can award good marks to Sundaram Motors now.

re the horn, they first said it needed replacing, and would cost 1,800. I would have paid that, but felt that it should come under warranty. They concurred and replaced it at zero charge.

Initially, they said they could do no better with the chrome, so I was glad that I had polished an inch of grill myslef to show that it could be done.

I asked for an informal quote to get rid of a dent and touch up. I declined the 4,500 for denting. They said they would touch up for free

They have touched up the dent. Not exactly like paint-shop standards, but it doesn't show from a distance, which also makes the dent a great deal less obvious.

They have made the chrome gleam, and I saw the guy applying polish to the paint, so it has had an extra coat. I think they may have just repeated the external "beautification"

The engine seems to have more pull.

Service Advisor Ganesh was co-operative throughout. Yes, they might have got it all right on one visit, but after just a little persuasion, they showed willingness.

I bought the car from Abra, the other Chennai VW dealership. Their service station is Faaar, far away in Ambatur. I would much rather take and collect the car myself. I'll be going back to Sundaram this time next year :)

It's really strange having a deep VW horn again instead of "Peep". I keep thinking it's not me but another vehicle! I thought it must have been rat damage, rather than horn failure, and I could not have argued that that should be covered by warranty, so all ended better than I expected.

Anybody replaced their wiper blades? has anybody changed to hella dynablades? Please give your feedback.

Anybody replaced their wiper blades?
Actually, I was thinking about this today!

No.

My car is now 2 yrs old and so are the wiper blades. Previously cars, I have always insisted on a replacement set every year, but these are still going strong and not squeaking or streaking.

I got Bosch Wiper Blades in July'2012 from Windshield Experts @340/- and they are working perfectly fine.

I'm currently using Hella DynaEdge for my Vento and they are performing good for close to 1.5 yrs. No streak and makes less noise. Also kind of looks good in comparison to stock ones. Sizes for Polo/Vento are 24" & 16". You can even purchase them from Snapdeal.

You can have look at my ownership thread for installation images.

Hi All,

I own a Feb 2013 made Polo 1.2P.

Day before yesterday, while driving from office to home my Check Engine Light lit up, I immediately parked to the left and switched off/on the engine but the light remained. There was no other issue with the performance of the car otherwise.

Yesterday I thought of visiting VW motinagar to get it resolved but my day schedule did not permit me to do so, In the evening I thought of taking the car to workshop but to my suprise the CEL was not there, I again cycled between engine on/off but CEL remained off. I drove back home as I had to go to some function which was 30Kms away from my place.

While returning back the light came on again and was lit but no issues in driving. It was present in the morning as well so I visited the VW motinagar and explained them the case.

The SA opened a job card saying VAGCOM will not function unless job card is opened. OK. He returned 10 minutes later and said there is a good and a bad news, good is you can take the car back and bad news is Throttle Body is problematic and would be required to be replaced. They have raised a backorder and will inform when it arrives.

I enquired that on less than one year old and only 11000 kms car, how is it possible, he said there was an issue with some 2013 manufactured cars and are replacing it under warranty for users reporting the issue and have even replaced it for a customer who had clocked only 900 kms recently.

I asked how safe is it to drive the car with family, he said the problem is only in intial stage and since u are not facing any issue with driving u can continue doing so otherwise your car is in warranty and can avail RSA. Great!!

I would like to ask my fellow owners have they faced any similar issue w.r.t Throttle body.

CEL is off right now.

Thanks to all for reading.

I have a Polo 1.2 D, had the Check Engine Light lit yesterday at 8500kms. Called VW roadside assistance and the car got towed from home. They will call me today and update me about this. Will let you know if its the same thing.

This is why I love TeamBHP... :)

my car was running CEL till yesterday and it went off in the morning, the car felt smoother suddenly. Let's see if changing the TB will bring some effect of NVH.

My car was running CEL and the VW workshop requested not to drive it and rather tow it.

There is some sensor which needs to be replaced, nothing else.. Part will arrive in sometime.

Car is in perfect condition :)

Just had one issue.. Brakepads went kaboom within first 6k kms..

Hi,

Is your dealership VW Noida? If yes, my car is due for its'free' 7500K service check up. Anything that I should watch out for at the dealership?

Infact which VW dealership is better in terms of workmanship in Delhi ?
