I have not used it yet. Sohail had informed me that it can be easily buffed off. But the flakes tend to get into the trims so thats to be taken care of.

Buddy, you leave it to dry for 15 minutes and then the wax process is next best to Waxpol. It becomes tough to buff if you've given ample drying time.

Hey carcrazy (i guess thats what garipagol means?)

Water being used to wash the car is municipal water. Its soft water and is very clean. Its not distilled water but I think it fits into your definition of 'distilled type water'. Daily wash is only with this water wihout any shampoo. The watchman uses a differnt cloth for wheels. After washing the car, he cleans it dry, so there should be no residue left after a wash. I have also observed that because its cleaned daily, there is not much effort required during a wash. The wheels are also very clean.

These are my practices. I am ready to stop getting the car washed daily and swith over to a duster/MF towel on alternated days if thats better than what I do. I have availabiliy of getting the car water washed daily and wax it as required. Please let me know your suggestions based on this.

agree: that pure wax is the best wax sans polishing agents. I have used waxpol carnuba wax. But its too hard to buff off. You mentioned that iIf the surface is prepared pure wax is not difficult to apply and buff off. how can one prepare the surface?

can you please let me know the price for waxpol carnuba wax

I guess its around 110 Rupees. Will confirm it after some time.
Feeling too lazy to go down and open up the car's trunk :D !

Exactly. The 200gm tin costs 110Rs. (MRP 117) and the Scooter polish tin of 50gms cost 38Rs. Have stocked up some tins so got them at 100Rs.per tin.

Whoa!! 6000 pound carnuba wax!!
I want! :D

(but why so expensive?)

this makes me wonder, are the 'carnuba waxes' that we use, a fake??

and I'd seriously like to meet that guy and get a few tips from him!

May be that's the most concentrated and purest extract of the carnuba wax and i think we only get a very little quantity mixed in the regular waxes.

I so long for a tub of 'Pure' carnuba wax without any kind of polishers!!

here in India, every single wax seems to contain micro polishers!

its not such a bad thing if a person occasionally waxes,
but is totally counterproductive in case I want to 'layer' it!!
(as the 'micro polishers' damage the previous wax layer on which the new layer is being laid!)

Used hard shell turtle wax yesterday on my black magnum. Man! the results are amazing. Its indeed much much easier to use than waxpol carnuba wax. The gloss is also really nice. The surface is super smooth and using a cloth across done and undone surfaces tells you the difference. Water beading is superb. Swirls have reduced a lot.

I used my buffing machine with a very light hand to buff off the wax. Even though the machine is not necessary, I feel that it saves a lot of time as you can do larger areas at once. I also felt that buffing with a machine gives better results. Despite the machine, some corners and curves need to be finished by hand. The wax flakes off and tends to get into inaccessibel areas as sohail said. So, I used some old newspaper and masking tape to cover the trims.

All in all, I am very satisfied with the result. My uncle commented as soon as he saw the car in the morning today. Also got a comment from a neighbor at office today.

Now I have to buy a nice duster and reduce the frequency of getting the car washed. I think that daily washing is causing swirl marks.

I took some pics today morning to show the 'WAX-EFFECT', but the light was too low. Just one of the post-wax pictues was fine and I am posting that.

Attached below are 3 pictures
Pic1) Covering the trims with paper and masking tape before waxing.
Pic2) Did the right half of the boot lid. The left yet to be done. On close observation one can see a line right in the middle of the bootlid separating them.
Pic3) Just one of the post wax pic I took today morning. All others had low light. Will try to get more pics by tomorrow if possible.
