@el lobo: Yeah I pretty much follow the same procedure. Only problem is I have to wait till the car gets home in the rare case that dad takes it.
So by the time I'm ready to remove bird droppings, it would've dried up.

This was like some sort of onslaught on my car. Almost with vengeance! I typically have max 2 bird droppings but yesterday was bad.

I've my revenge planned ;)

I'd read that its good as a pre-wax cleaner too. Helps get rid of old layers of wax/polish etc. so I'd assumed its mildly abrasive. Didn't know otherwise, thanks !

I have always used Mothers products till now but found they were not working well in India. Hoping Megs is better, based on the reviews here on team bhp. I still have some Mothers wash/polish/wax/QD etc.

Couple of questions:
The sequence I am planning is:
Jopasu -> ONR -> Clay (optional) -> Ultimate Polish (optional) -> Collinite
Is this fine, or should there be a pure 'wax' layer between polish and Collinite? What is a good wax that goes well with above list?

My Jopasu is nearing the end of it's life and is not picking up dust as before. Where can I pick one up in Bangalore?

The information on the website on what this product does is quite good , had seen a polisher use this on one of the cars at a garage and indeed the gloss was awesome.

Any inputs would be good as a can of 1000ml costs INR 1750 and there is no can smaller then 1Ltr :eek:

I've been contemplating about this for a while.

Is it fine to park your car in rain and let the mother nature take care of washing.saving good amount of water as well as You end up only removing the water using a good MF cloth? any post effect due to this?

You can order Jopasu from Snapdeal and get it delivered to your home. Though i have heard reliance autozone stocks it for cheaper.


I use the same detailing routine you have outlined.

Jopasu/washing followed by collinite. The result is quiet pleasing. Once you wax your car, the effectiveness of Jopasu increased as the cleaner just glides over picking up all the dust.

Sanjay from BBImpex also suggested NOT to use ONR before collinite. The reasoning being ONR polymers will prevent the wax from bonding well to the car paint and the wax may not last as long.

On a seperate note: I see Jopasu has expanded their product suit and are now selling almost all required car detailing product. Anyone used any of these products? i have the MF cloths and the duster which are extremely good. i am assuming the other products will be equally high quality.

Its on the outer ring road. If you go towards Sarjapur side from Silk board junction its on the left side just before the first flyover.

Sometimes I would go out and spray shampoo and then use cloth plus rain for washing, but that was my previous car, which used to stand in the open, uncovered, and get very dusty and dirty every day.

I see no harm in using the rain. No doubt it is polluted, but may be less so than our water supply!

Rainwater is one of the purest forms of water, but now a days, pollution makes it dangerous.
The suspended sulfur dioxide and nitrogen dioxide in the atmosphere from factory and car exhaust, when combined with rain water, produces weak sulfurous and nitrous acid. On the long run - there are responsible for eating away the paint of buildings and sheen from marble.
Best water to wash cars is distilled water - but it may be a overkill. For cheaper option - collect municipal water in a couple of buckets and treat with potash alum overnight. Then use it for washing in the 2 bucket method.

If the rain is going to fall on the car anyway, then might as well get out there and add some cleaning agents! It might be acid rain, but at least then it is acid rain plus soap.*

Actually, our tap water (we do not have a purified Metro/Municipal supply) worries me more than the rain does: it has destroyed the chrome plating on some of our taps.


By-the-way crazy afterthought... soap is alkaline, is car shampoo also alkaline? Maybe we ought to get out there and add soap every time it rains.

Thanks. I read it before as well. If I use a polish before Collinite, I guess it will take care of the polymer bonding thing. But I intend to use polish once in 3-4 months but collinite every month. Maybe I should use regular shampoo when planing to wax; I still have some Mothers California Gold shampoo left.

Just extrapolating, the polymer issue would be applicable even when claying then, as ONR or any other QD will use the same concept for lubrication?
