Move over to paint sealants. Carnauba based wax are too old school. Given the weather condition in India, paint sealant will easily outlast 3 times more than wax. I put Collinite 915 3 coats on my car and it last for more than 2 months with ONR washes every week.

If there are many swirls, waxing directly on them will not help. It hide them temporarily but they'll resurface very quickly.

Instead try using a rubbing compound (Meguiars UC, 3M Rubbing Compound, Pinnacle Adv Swirl Remover etc). They are abrasive in nature will work towards filling out the swirls. Although they don't completely remove the swirls they'll reduce it by atleast 70-80%.

Follow this up with a sealant / wax for a better finish. All the best!!

I found some time today after a long gap and proceeded with the VIM liquid experiment. The seat covers are still a tad wet from the cleaning but it looks like it has worked indeed. Hi Shashank,

Bosch Aquatak has not given me any problems in the past 2.5 yrs of usage. The only maintenance required is to service it every 6 months, which costs 300 - 400. If need be, the inlet filter has to be changed during the service which would cost 100 more. The pressure is awesome in this machine.

I ordered Meguiars quick detailer through COD (cash on delivery). The service was prompt and I received it within 5 days. I somehow find it difficult to trust unknown websites with online payment thus, COD is a great feature. I am also impressed with the way they had packaged the detailer. Enough care was taken to ensure that product is able to take the abuse during transit.

Gosh, I never knew service was even available! Thanks.

The trigger on my handpiece stuck open for ages. The last time I used it it had decided to be ok again. Hey ho!

My jopasu duster is not as effective as before. Earlier, one swipe and all the dust was gone. Now a days it leaves some of the dust behind. Also once the dust it picked up, it falls back on the car during the next swipe.

Is this normal? I have been using it since August for about 2-3 times a week. Have washed it as it wasn't recommended on the forum.

are you sure about this? have you tried the same?

i ask coz the advise on the forum in earlier posts has been to not wash the duster at all else it loses whatever little dust attraction it has left.

has anyone on the forum tried washing and seen the dust picking power come back up?

Not sure, but I think the instructions say soap rather than detergent. Soap will be much more gentle.

Should be shaken well before and after use. Looks like yours currently needs shaking every swipe or two.

Dont wash the duster with detergent. I shook it hard so that most of the dust went off. Then dipped the material in cold water, squeezed a bit gently and let it dry.
It works now. Ive never washed with detergent though.

I got it washed using Ezee (a detergent meant for woollens) and haven't noticed any effect on dirt picking abilities. One of my cars is always parked outside so, the amount of dust that gets wiped is huge. Thus, washing it after 3 months had become absolutely necessary.

The bosch service center which I visit is in vanagaram. I have seen all types of bosch products being serviced here. Not sure if there are other bosch service centers in chennai. If required will get you the complete address soon.
