Dear Experts,

Need a help. I have seen the coolant dry up very quickly twice in my XUV500 W10 At (2017 model). Checked everywhere but couldn't find any leakage as well. Neither MASS guys could find anything. Any idea what could be the reason for this?

Also service advisor suggested to change suspensions in my next service due at 90k KMS. any suggestions on what to keep in mind and do?

One possibility is a leak from the heater core inside the dashboard. The coolant line goes through a valve that controls the hot air circulation of HVAC. The floor carpet would soak up the coolant and possibly drain out. Do you sense any foul smell inside the cabin?

Thanks Bejoy. No there is no foul smell nor any wetness in the floor carpet.

If you are not using the heater function get the coolant pipe to the heater coil blocked, can be done from the engine bay (no need to dismantle the dashboard). Coolant leaks slowly without any trace some times. A good AC mechanic would do the job in 15 mins.

I had my car's interiors cleaned, and after the cleaning, I found this piece left on the seat. Does anyone know where this part might be from? This is XUV500 W11 AWD automatic model

This is the cover for the cabin air filter, located near the clutch pedal.

Refer this video for fixing it.

How do I reset the service reminder in my 2017 XUV500 without going to the service center. It is a W6. Service was done in a FNG, and car is running as good as ever clap:. Have seen some youtube videos where the trip button needs to be pressed and ignition has to be turned on. But that method does not seem to be working. :Frustrati

Well, I was able to do it this morning. Different posts on different forums and youtube videos had variations of the same method. I had been trying each method since the past few days.

Below are the steps that succeeded for me:
1. Ignition off, key out.
2. Press the trip button on the right side of the odo console and keep it pressed.
3. With the button pressed, insert the key and turn twice. (do not switch on engine)
4. Leave the trip button in exactly 3 seconds.

The service reminder will go away. Verify it in the 'Info' section of the entertainment unit.

Hi,

I have a 2018 XUV 500 AT W7, 40000 kms. Went to the dealership and following was recommended by the advisor:
1. Ac evaparator cleaning 1900++
2. Engine compartment cleaning 900 ++
3. Coolant replacement - 2600++
4. Silencer cleaning - 1300 ++

This is at Mahindra Service Centre.

Is it worth getting these or any of these done? My annual drive is max 10k km.

Thanks in advance.

Issue with Honor200 Phone and Android Auto on XUV500 2016 model

My friend is facing an issue with his new Honor200 phone. It connects to Android Auto seamlessly in other cars, but it doesn’t seem to connect with his XUV500 2016 model. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Could this be a phone issue or is it more likely a compatibility problem with the car? Any troubleshooting tips or solutions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Want to Buy:

I’m looking to buy this Stock system for a 2011-14 Xuv500 W6 or 2015-17 W4. Hit me up if you are interested in selling yours.

I'm posting on behalf of a friend who recently experienced a sudden brake failure in his 2.5-year-old Mahindra XUV 500 AT. This happened just before the Thoppur Ghat section while he was driving slowly. He was about to start overtaking a truck, noticed another car in the rearview mirror, and hit the brake pedal to slow down and stay in his lane. However, he found the brake pedal went all the way down without reducing the momentum of the car at all. Before he could do anything, he crashed into the truck ahead of him. Thankfully, there were no injuries to the passengers, and the vehicle remained in a drivable condition with damages limited to the bumper and bonnet areas.

After the accident, the brakes were working perfectly fine when checked. If it was a fluid leak, air bubbles, worn-out brake pads, or other similar defects in the braking system, it would not have self-healed after the accident, would it?

He was worried about driving it back even to the nearby garage in Salem and used the service of a flatbed. Now, the car is at Salem Mahindra, and he is yet to hear any diagnosis from them.

While I have heard multiple similar incidents in Scorpios and XUVs (more in old generation Scorpios), I could not find too many of them reported online, including in TeamBHP. I've heard similar stories from other XUV 500 owners, including another friend who had an accident a few years back after Salem. He was driving at around 100 km/h when he suddenly felt the steering and brakes jammed, causing the vehicle to hit the median and overturn multiple times. Thankfully, both he and his wife were unhurt, except for some seatbelt bruises. The vehicle was declared a total loss, and he moved away from Mahindra vehicles after the incident.

Given these incidents, my friend is now concerned about the reliability of the XUV 500 in the future.

Has anyone else experienced similar issues with their XUV 500 or other Mahindra cars? Any suggestions on what could be causing these sudden brake failures and how to prevent them in the future would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Wanted to share the workaround my friend used that might be helpful to others. He resolved the issue by using a Wireless Android Auto Adapter to pair his phone. The problem likely stemmed from compatibility issues between the phone and the car audio

Hello everyone,

I’m driving a 2013 XUV 500 W8 driven almost 76500kms till date. For the past few months I’m getting an intermittent Check engine light. The light comes on and when the vehicle is switched off and on it goes off and comes back on after a few days.

When scanned it was a P1B87 code - Max. Positive deviation of Rail Pressure exceeded in metering unit.
Request if anyone can recommend a good FNG in Visakhapatnam for fixing this problem as MASS are quoting a long service time for the same and I don’t trust them to rectify it completely.

Thanks.

I have 2015 W6 variant. Lately observed that AC is taking more time to cool and the fan needs to run in full. I checked with one of the local mechanic and he said AC gas pressure is normal and suspected that Evaporator Coil is clogged and needs cleaning. I feel if I go to Mahindra service centre they would suggest the same and ask for a replacement of Evaporator coil.
Is it ok to clean Evaporator Coil or its recommended for replacement? If replacement then what would be the cost?
