New norms for electromagnetic radiations in cars likely by 2013

Saw this article in Maharashtra Times, though did not find its English version. If anyone finds, please post:

?????????????????? ??????????? ????-???? + ?. ??????????-??????????-Maharashtra Times

The nearest I got on this topic was this page:

Would it be possible for you write a couple of lines on what the article is trying to say? May benefit others!

Is this the same Electromagnetic-waves-bad-for-humans theory?

Its says that modern automobiles have electronic devices like air-bags,auto-locking systems etc which can cause electromagnetic 'radiation' which might be harmful to passengers.

Going forward from 2013 it might be possible that new norms related to electomagnetic interference may be applicable to vehciles.

VRDE (vehicle research & development establishment) is currently researching and studying the same.

Thanks for the translation.

Is there any real proof that EM waves are bad for humans?
Taking a simplistic correlation, average age of humans have increased immensely in the last century and advent of all modern devices using or emitting EM waves was also in the last century.

How many people we know have been diagnosed with health issues by excess use of mobiles (other than psychological or ergonomic) ?

It has nothing to do with the safety to Humans, but electromagnetic radiations from the vehicle electricals/electronics causing interference to other communication systems nearby. The compliance is to contain the interfering radio frequency emissions to safe levels. Given that we have all kinds of wireless communication systems operating around us - from medical, safety, security systems, etc. , it is important to limit the interference. To give an example, years ago whenever certain two stroke auto-rickshaws pass through the road in front of our house, our household radio (on AM stations) used to make huge crackling noise, proportional to the engine RPM. It is the interference caused that could be from the dynamo or the ignition system.

yes indeed, the article says the electromagnetic inteference may cause issues to the electrical devices inside the car which may cause those to malfunction etc and could be harmful to passengers.I stand corrected.
thanks
