My experience with the Chevrolet ASC was very bad.
I used to get occasional knocking noise from my real wheel side whenever the car used to be left standing for a few days. I suspected it to be from the brake as the sound would go away after running a few hundred metres and braking a few times.

I pointed this out to the floor manager when giving my car & specifically requested them that I am waiting in the lounge & when you open the wheels for servicing, I want to inspect the innards, He agreed but after 2 hours also when I was not called, I inquired again, they told me that they have already opened & serviced the wheels & fitted them back on & it is not possible for them to show me what they have done. I took up the issue with the Service Station head also but he also refused to do anything in the matter.
I am very sure that nothing was done, as this time when the wheel was opened in TVS garage in my presence, the wheel Rim was strongly bonded to the Car with rust & only after applying a lot of WD40 was he able to free the wheel rim whereas the front wheels came of with just a few knocks on the tyre. He was also of the opinion that the rim has never been removed in the last 1 year for servicing, seeing the amount of rust.
I also ventured in the back of the service station, where the cars were washed & I observed that 1 other car was simply washed from the ground level & they did not bother to raise it to wash the bottom properly before removing it for for drying.
So the Chevrolet Service quality is not guaranteed everywhere although Trident is much better in maintaining standards then Kropex but ofcourse the 75 kms fuel cost & 300/- for the pickup & drop is a deal breaker.
Also the inflated charges of Rs 5,000 for the 18 month service is not justified in my opinion in view of the very low mileage my car had run between the 2nd free & 3rd paid service.

Ok, since you are not happy with the GM ASC and believe their charges are inflated (which I do too, I am curious to know how it adds up to Rs 5K) you can take it to an aftermarket service centre. I am sure blr based TBHPians would help with recommended centres. Do keep in mind what I told you about the oil change interval, filter and crush washer. Good luck!

When I asked them about the wrong parts, the refrain was that it is not available in the market and he put in a substitute. That's for critical parts like a spark plug and brake pads. For my Toyota I go only to the ASC. To me Toyota represents the gold standard of after sales service and this is from a person who strongly believes in DIY and who washes/waxes his car himself. Toyota's Pune dealer has won my trust over time.

In the past 12 years we have purchased 2 Maruti Esteems, 1 Tata Safari, 1 Honda City, 2 Toyota Corollas & 1 Fiat Palio 1.6 GTX. My experience spans 5 manufacturers. The worst is Fiat, rather non existent service due to their tie up with Tata. The best is Toyota and Maruti and Honda fall somewhere in the middle with Tata and Fiat bringing up the tail end.

The only reason that I suggested that the OP approach the GM ASC is I heard they are far better than the likes of Fiat, Tata and others. The issue is about ownership for a piece of work that is critical to the life of the car. This is even though the OP doesn't care too much about the remaining warranty period.
I agree with what you have said. In one of my replies I did mention that if there was any mechanical work, it needs to be taken to a ASC. For oil changes/spark plug changes/filter changes I dont think its worth paying the premium to the ASCs.

Re: Engine Oil Topup for Chevrolet Beat-Which one?

Is there a ranking of engine oils on their goodness?

Also, it's difficult to find the oil with the same acronym given in the car manual,
eg. SAE 5W-30 API SM GF4

Now I don't see any API SM oil online most of it is API SN
can someone pls suggest how to find one suitable for Sail UVA Petrol the manual says go for SAE 5W-30 API SM GF4

Also, the recommended oil quantity is 3.75L - the oil packaging is of either 3.5L or 4L, so do I need to buy the 4L pack and keep the leftover as backup?
