Re: Correct Gear Oil for CVT Transmission

I have 2009 Honda City I-Vtec AT with Torque Converter gearbox. Honda recommends its oil to be changed every 60,000 Kms. Last time it was changed in my car at 56,000 kms and now the odo reads 93,000 kms. I have faced no problems till now, will get it changed next at 1,12,000 kms service.

I saw that this has been quoted in the team-bhp Honda City 4th gen review, but how relevant is this really to the CVT in the newer models? I assume that the CVT would have changed from the 2nd gen to the 4th gen, are the values still appropriate? Have not heard about this anywhere else, and even Honda staff seem clueless.

When in doubt, just go by manufacturers' recommendations; they specify an interval in kms and months and choose whichever is earlier.

I choose a midpath as changing oil in, say, 12 months, on a car that has done just, say, 2500km is absurd.

Re: Correct Gear Oil for CVT Transmission

Have a BRV V-CVT which has just returned from the 40K service. However the CVT gearbox oil hasn't been changed as part of standard maintenance.
Should I raise this as issue with the Service station - this is Classic Honda, Faridabad?

Re: Correct Gear Oil for CVT Transmission

Hi, I own a 2015 Micra CVT which has only done around 25K Kms. It mainly sees city roads and traffic. Recently been hearing a sort of a drone above speeds of 60Kmph. Do I need to change the oil? Can someone shed some light on this? Thanks!

Re: Correct Gear Oil for CVT Transmission

Hello,
I have an early 2009 Mitsubishi Outlander and I needed to do a CVT fluid change.
The manual says DIA QUEEN CVTF-J1. Was wondering if anyone knew where I could source it? or what's a good equivalent one to use.
