Alto - Engine Transplant!!!

Hi

Been drving a lot of cars from the maruti stable but found the Alto and the Baleno quite stable...

Talking about Alto, it's quite stable and not too old for an engine transplant. What are old are the AltoVX 1.1 version which had a decent power delivery. Too bad maruti discontinued it (Yeah I know it costed a bomb, where as the same engine in a wagon R costed much less - Thansk to maruti's ripping people strategy) .

However, can an alto take a better engine like the 1.3L and would it be a wise move in respect too much power and high speed braking?

Ciao
Sam

I dont think a 1.3 liter would fix inside an alto bay due to space constraints

You better buy used Alto VX 1.1L - it is still available in the market, though hard to find. (I own an Alto VX but not willing to sell, it's a superb car really pitty that Maruti discontinued it)

Yeah, the 1.1 Altos are gems. Once in a while a few crop up, and they're snapped up pretty soon. Though I doubt they are bought as anything except regular Altos.

I always look out for uncles who are sellin their Alto VX, whom you can say "yeh model toh discontinue ho chuka hai!!" and buy it for cheap .

Actually delhi is the place, people don't know anything once its discontinued from the showroom means prices slash drastically...

I would really doubt that...Dealers and Sellers here are good business men..!

On my sunday trip to Maruti True Value @ Gautam Motors Okhla..There was a ALTO VXi 1.1 available..Cherry Red and under 50,000 KM..So if anyone in delhi needs to find the " Elusive Baby" here is one place where its up for grabs..!

Alto VXi 1.1 is a Car thats too much in demand but short on supply in the second hand market, and brokers know the advantage so VX1.1 is also pricey..!
