So did the window just shatter or was there an explosion?

There was a loud explosion like noise and the window shattered. the glass came falling down as soon as the car was stopped.

Re: Issues with my 2012 Mercedes C250 CDI

Changing Break pads in my W 204 (CGI 200 BE).
Hi ,
My car has done 41,000 Kms and I get check brake wear message. Time to change brake pads (and possibly rotors). ASC quoted 42,000 for change in 4 wheel break pad. Considering this ridiculous amount did some research on aftermarket break pad and independent garages. Finally bougt textar (front and rear) for INR 5500 / and labor charge of INR 2500 with local garage . Plus polishing on 4 wheel done for INR 1000. Total cost inr 9000/ . as of now everything is working fine, but it is too soon to declare it successful. will keep all posted . Now I am considering getting servicing done in similar way .
Has anyone else tried similar economic solutions ?

What you did is the best way to maintain a post warranty German car. Get good parts from the open market (almost every part is available with some patience), find out a good FNG, and have him maintain the car with some TLC from your side regularly.

You can easily carry out most work in this manner on them and keep them running affordably.
