T-BHP authorized Garages!

I was just having a thought (and I dont know if I have posted it in the right place), in the constant search for a good "workshop" or "garages", is it a possibility to have "T-BHP authorised" garages in cities?
We are a collection of auto enthusiasts, and we set out guidelines on what must be there in the workshop, in terms of quality of service, staff etc etc, and based on those criterion set by us, we "Reccommend" garages in the forum. These are reviewed on an annual basis if they are keeping upto the standards that we have set. Again, this is not put down anyone or anything, but everyone is always confused on where to take their car to do up, and so if we use our collective exptertise to identify workshops, members are free to choose. its like picking up apples in the market, instead, we are selecting the apple based on certain criteria set, and then we are cutting them and servin them to the members, and now members can choose which apple to pick.

Anycomments?

(Mods: I dont know where else to post this, but i have been wanting to post this for a long time, apologies to anyone if they get offended)

well i doubt the forum itself would authorise such a thing - too many legalaties and subjective opinions in question.
However it is a good idea in the sense that, memebers can reccomend garages that they fel are good for repair work etc, and back that up by giving their experience on the whole thing.
Its party been done for dealerships in the review section, i guess something similar could be done for workshops and garages.

Great Idea!
I strongly support that we build and maintain a database of good garages from all over the country. This will be of great help to members new to any city and invaluable information to carry along on long drives.

Great Idea. We should first have a list of say 5 parameters on which members (of sufficient seniority?) rate the garages. Garages thus rated are then posted on the web-site as T-BHP recommended garages.

i suggest everone post the names of the garage

Then the garages will be rated according to the number of people recomended it....

1. Economy Garage ( Normal Maintainence Garage )

2. Garages specialized for Engines

3. Garages specializing in Paintjob.

4. Best place for Custom Exteriors. (Body Kit Etc)

5. Recomended place for getting your Exhaust.

I think this categories are enough....
If i've left something behind please add to it guys....

I hope this thread will provide enough information needed to all T - Bhpians

One Important Point Missed out Here would be to please name the city also.
Would it be right to include shops for good acessories & mod parts here?

glad to see this is getting somewhere!

Anyways, i figured the legalities of us "authorizing" a garage, but nothing stops us from "recommending" garages / workshops.

I was thinking along the lines of a small group of T-bhp members who actually go and check out the place, and get back with feedback that is posted, this will prevent people from "strongly" recommending one particular garage or something. kind of a neutrality in the whole thing.

Because, I might rate a garage 9/10 for certain criteria, but a more experienced person might give it an actual 5/10 or something, or vice versa. after a member reccomends a garage, the team goes and checks it out and gives its verdict.

I am hoping that with the team checking it out, there will be some weightage given to the findings.

My recommendation is based on personal experience... For Wheel Balancing and Alignment, I go to J.C. Auto Engineers (Mr. Bosco Fernandes)

J.C. Auto Engineers
Extn. Sarojini Road,
Gautan, Vile Parle (W),
Mumbai 400 056

I've got my work done from several places, but I would recommend Bosco's place as when his people work on my cars, I never have any problems.
His people are trained and know what they are doing. He also takes personal interest in the vehicles if he is around!
When I first got my contessa, he was recommended to me by the puncture repair shop at the petrol pump opposite the Juhu Centaur hotel... That was around 6 years ago. I've been with him ever since.

In addition to Wheel Alignment and Balancing, he also has equipment to carry out suspension testing, brake testing, etc. (I have not tried them out as yet). He also arranges for camps for PUC, Electrics and
Free inspection for his customers (members) at regular intervals.

If you have more than one vehicle, he has deals for your second and third vehicle. Also, he gives a membership facility in which he does 3(I think) alignments and balancing in a year for slightly over the price
of one and his people will call you (or snail mail you) to remind you near the due date!

I like him not only because of his work, but the overall service he provides!
