AC on the move.

Is it a bad thing to switch on your AC while on the move? I noticed some vapour coming out of the vents in my Swift, when I did that. Is this normal?

Thanks..

That is very normal ballkey. It doesn't happen all the time, only sometimes it happens even in our car. I checked it with my mech, he says nothing to worry.
So, enjoy your drive with no fear or worries

the vapours coming out of the vent is common in monsoon months because of high humidity. dont worry.

One Idea is to use the perfume that sits on the blower fins like Ambipure. The AC air pushes out the perfume neutralising the odour if any. It worked for me especially if some smokes in the car.

Another to clear your blowers. Any other idea?

While using a perfume will suppress the bad odour, it will not be a permanent solution. The best way out is to clean the blower fan (you will be surprised at how much of dust gets accumulated in those things over time), and also clean the air-inlets. Especially if you use the fresh air mode often. When we keep this vent open, debris like leaves etc gets suck in and get stuck in the air-intake, that decays over time and hence the humid/damp smell that comes out of the A/C.

I don't think this will be applicable to cars like the Opel Astra that came with a pollen filter. Hope this helps.

Thanks guys...

One more thing - how does one clean honey-comb grilles like those in Swift/Ikon etc? Splashing water on it doesnt seem to be effective - is there way to prise it out? Sorry for going offtopic ...
