Re: Audi A6 engine problems. EDIT: Court orders Audi to repair the car Hi Guys
Just to clarify, HPFP failures are very common across the Audi VW group models.
OFI NHTSA and EU ECE ETSAhave investigated this over 4 years and VW reports show that contaminated fuels upto xx% do not lead to pump failure.
Recently in 2016 the Investigation was closed and any premature failure that was with in spec was replaced by VW group under the recall.
Below is report for some light reading. https://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/acms/c...1003-61863.pdf
In sep 2016 my Q7 HPFP failed I asked about this and Audi replaced only half the fuel delivery system after 4 months and only 800kms the HPFP crashed and needed a replacement this time they said full system has to be changed and will cost ~6.5 lac less what I paid last time. ??
Sent an email to MD VW, haven't heard back. Have told all my friends who own luxury cars to stay away from Audi as they didn't honour a global recall in India in sep 2016.
Keep you posted on progress.
FYI - no fuel contamination was found by approved testing labs both the times.
