dear fellow-powerlords:

most of u do know a lot about tecchie stuff regarding cars.. however, for those of you who don't know much (like me for eg.) or for those of u who'd like to know more i've found this informative website -> howstuffworks "Auto Channel"

its a part of the howstuffworks network.

this website has tonnes of information regarding automobiles ->
turbochargers, transmissions, engines.. you name it.
want to know more about a straight 6 engine.. SOHC & DOHC confuse the hell out of u.. how do those huge Hemi's work.. ?

these guys have the answers to the above questions and more.. they've tried to explain things as clearly as possible..
good enough for all u techie's (i hope) and simple enough for all u laymen..

its really helped me understand more about our 4-wheeled friends..

hope it helps some of u guys clear ur doubts too..

enjoy,
ad

Yeah absolutely.....thats one of my favourite sites!

And keep your eyes open, because what looks like a diagram sometimes has a little button you click on, and turns out to be a very helpful flash animation!

Great site, and as GTO says, not just for cars - for understanding how anything works!

Well guys, i think it won't be out of place if we use this thread to discuss all the technical websites we know about. So, here's my contribution:

CDX e-textbook:
CDX eTextbook free online automotive textbook and encyclopedia
Consists of a number of articles covering the basics of the automobile

Autozine technical school:
AutoZine Technical School
The latest trends of all manufacturers explained

Automotive videos:
Home Page
Has nearly 10GBs of videos explaining the working of automotive components

F1 Technical:
The Formula One reference! - F1Technical.net
The tech behind the fastest cars on the planet

Dictionary of Automotive terms:
Dictionary of Automotive Terms A-Z
A comprehensive dictionary of the terminology we encounter

I dont know for sure if there is another thread discussing technical links, so thats why i posted here. So, if there is such a thread already, the mods can move it to its proper place.

Cheers!

Howstuffworks is one of my favourite sites. So informative and the difficult stuff is so easy once you've gone through it on this site. Simple and effective is what I call it. Even Carbibles is a great site. Especially the "whats new" section.

@Sonu - These are very basic stuff & most of them seem to be have covered in my 9/10th grade; something more interesting will do justice. Tks.
