for nearly 6 months now, ive been facing a "tak, tak" sound which also sends a mild vibration across the steering whenever i start of the vehicle from stand still.as if when the load comes on, the steering/front axle is sending these sounds.. it disappears post that. the sound is very much pronounced if the vehicle is on long drives (has run for a long time ) and once i halt and resume, the sound is even more audible. since this was not a big problem when i drive within city i ignored it for sometime. on checking up with the service station, with some basic inspection they concluded that it is a problem with some steering socket joint which comes in pairs and needs to be replaced. replacement cost ( 1.3k * 2 ) since the guy was not very confident when he said this, i thought i will chek with u guys in this forum....

Tie rod failure can lead to loss of steering control at high speeds. Please get this checked by another mech to confirm and replace it asap.
