The best part about team-bhp is that I am continously refreshing my memory about all things automotive, while at the same time learning so much from everyones knowledge sharing.

If I remember correct, General Motors had marketed the term "tuned port fuel injection" way back in the 80's for use on their high performance cars. While it was basically very similar to the multi-point fuel injection systems, tuned port fuel injection basically had longer intake runners which resulted in awesome low-end torque.

Hope that helps,

GTO

hey as GTO said,
Its a GM trademark... you can find info on these systems in a book called how to build intake & exhaust systems.

TPFI or commonly known as TPI (Tuned Port Injection) works just like headers... you can reduce or increase the intake runner length to tune the power band .. bring it down or up (rpm) but these engines tend to lack high end power.
MPFI on the other had has the injectors placed directly in an angle over the intake valves.

I think the camaro does have a tuned port.

Cheers

Correct, I have seen numerous Camaros in the united states with the tpfi logo on them. Also, I believe there was a generation of Corvettes with the tpfi
