I would have got the IAC changed if it was available separately..... *they say .. u got to buy the whole throttle body for 5k. And that would be a gamble as i can see their capabilities.
hey slk,
a similar type of problem of knocking and poor pick up in a wagon r was solved by adjusting the timing, the tappet settings .
the idling can be set right by lubricating the throttle body.

isnt ur vehicle under warranty.or if u have an extended warranty for the 3rd and 4th year u can get ur faulty part replaced free .

Knocking... when they can't solve it they say ... some knocking is good for fuel efficiency.

When will these people ever learn !

When I was checking with Sundaram Motors that after completing 5000km, I want to put MOBIL1 and I need a complete engine flushing by them...the reply was very promt.
"Sir we cannot do that. GM as a policy don't recommend any other consummables other than what we use. And why do you want to do that? You're violating the service rule. If you go for any other oil.. Sir, we won't be responsible and so is GM."

I came back and sent a mail to GM's customer service.
The reply came within half hour saying there is no issue using Mobil1 and infact they believe it's the best available. The reason why they don't recommend is due to high price tag.
They'll inform Sundaram Motors as and when I'm ready for a oil change.

Just remembered one of my funny knocking instances during my esteem days.
I had this problem and drove the car to SaiService at lower parel. And guess wot crap they told me....
Sir,its either cos of less amount of fuel in the car or due to faulty tyres. We recommend to empty the present fuel and fill in a whole tank and see if the problem still persists.

Just walked out and gave the car to my local mechanic who cleared up the fault in a couple of hours.

How unprofessional can these guys get.

So we have to do more than we do while normal oil changing!

Since i am planning to get mobil 1 in wagonR
Is it really required to flush (not just drain out)?
How much time does it take!... (I don't have time! )

I'll just be going for a oil change. and nothing else!!

Hey SLK.It takes bout 20-40mins to get the flushing done. Not that time consuming and it surely helps. It is highly recommended to better the cars performance.
Take some time out and get it done perfectly.
