Front windshield fully frosted in the Baleno

Good folks, I have a query....when I took out my baleno this evening, the a/c was on and the front windshield got fully frosted on the outside and i had to use the wiper intermittently, if I didnt, the whole thing got blocked so badly that I couldnt see at all.

The a/c settings:
A/C on
Circulation mode
Cool mode
The a/c control switch was set to ventilation mode so that air comes out through the centre and side outlets(the left extreme switch)

Regards.
GTS

This query may sound dumb, but I am at my wits end. What to do, 'I am like this only no' !

Doc, It took me elementary science to understand this phenomenon.
Basically whats happening is, the water-vapour(gas) is coming in contact with a cool surface(ur windshield) and condensing to water(frost).
So, the solution to this problem is to heat up the windshield.

Just try and keep direct A/C flow away from the windshield. Lower the cooling a bit if that doesn't work.

Try keeping the A/C in "fresh air" mode and the vents in the "face" mode.

baleno's flapper motors which direct air to different vents tends to get spoilt happened in a friends car, so even after you direct all the air to face and feet mode the air still pops up below the windshield..

nitrous is correct, when the air from the a/c vent hits the winsheild then a patch is formed out side the windsheild...

keep the blower in the minimum speed & direct all the vents towards the floor. this should keep your windshields clear for an hour or so. also make a habit of switching off your ac when your car is idling, as in waiting at a signal or in traffic jams. hope that helps

Thanks folks!

Phew, am I relieved! Though common sense told me that this could be very normal, being a new owner, I was a tad worried that some part of the a/c had conked.

Thanks folks for all your reassurances. Saves me a trip to the mechanic!
