Does anyone have a Shade Card of all Maruti Colours specially the ones on the 800's and Omni's from the 1980's. Some of those colours were quite rare.

Thanks. Any idea where I can get a shade card showing these coulors?
1.Francoise White - I know what that looks like :D
2.NewZealand Brown - This I presume is the very dark brown.
3.Powder Blue - Is this the very light blue or the darker blue like Tata Trucks
4.Apple(?) Red - This too I'm familiar with.
5.Emerald Green - No idea
6.Biscuit Cream - This again I think I know
7.Sea Foam Green - No idea
8.Bayer Blue - No idea
9.Cairo Dust - No idea
10.Racing Blue - No idea
11.Neptune Blue(post93) - No idea

Yes, basically a chocolate brown.

AFAIK, tis what most of us call "sky blue"- IMHO, one of the colours on the Tata Nano comes closest to this shade.
Tis what I call "Railway blue" - a grey-tinged blue- because this colour was normally used on the doors/windows and seats of most of our trains (not sure if tis still used!) -especially the 2nd class/sleeper coaches! :D
Somewhat like this:
http://www.beneasai-vespashop.com/wp...blue_front.jpg A light beige-ish brown. Some of the old Ambys and Fiats and even 118Nes too had this shade.

That was a dark, royal/midnight bluish shade.
Since Stanher has already explained the other colours, will tell about the 2 remaining shades- S F Green-similar to surf green(slightly lighter) introduced in 1989 and Emerald Green( introduced in 1986) is the dark green which was very common in the GYPSY models

The colour shades you have mentioned as in the brochure are perfect. Apart from the SB 308, some shades were available with the SS 80 too.
Bayers Blue, Cairo Dust, Neptune Blue and a very light green shade ( Mint or Lime ? )were later added between 1988 - 1990.
Thanks to M800 enthusiast and my good friend Adil for pointing this out:
The red on SS80 was called as St.German Red, whereas the one on SB308 was called Apple Red.
Hence St. German Red(SS80):
Apple Red(SB308)
It's correct name was Bayer's Cream IIRC

Wow. Some trouble you have gone through to compile this. Thanks a lot. I recently painted my Fiero a dark Metallic Green. That colour came on the Omni and the 800. A lot of 5 Speeds came in that colour.

It was called as Metallic Exotique Green. Omni never came in that color AFAIK. There were similar looking greens, Metallic Henna Green and Harvest green(non metallic).
Henna Green was available only in Standard trim, hence you'll never see any original 5 Speed in Henna Green as 5 Speed came only in EX and DX. Harvest green in 800 was discontinued sometime in 1998.
Metallic Exotique Green.

PS: I am equally colorblind when it comes to competing with girls, but when it comes to cars, I somehow know it better. :D

My cousin had an Omni which looked like the car you posted. It was metallic and looked almost the same so I assumed it was the same colour.

Didn't know it was only in Std. My ex had one and the AC was fitted later. What the difference the EX and Std?

The only difference between STD and EX was that EX had Radial tyres and rear coil spring suspension. DX was EX+AC+fabric interiors+split rear seat+fully covered door trims+vanity mirror+tinted glass+thicker carpet etc. Also STD never came in 5 speed version.

IIRC, this was known as Tomato red - atleast on the SS80s and early Maruti Omnis. Or maybe only on the latter?

I am fairly certain the red of the SS80 and the earlier SB308 was the same, we locally called it Tomato red, not sure if officially called that. The St. Germain red came later on vans and 800s, it was much sharper, and brighter.

9.Cairo Dust - No idea |
Our first car was a Maruti Omni in Cairo Dust shade. I am not sure what made my dad like this colour. But in terms of the actual shade its very similar to the New Skoda Octavia VRS. Maybe a tad darker though. We used to refer it as cement colour in my childhood.
