Help Needed - Distributor Cap damaged.

Hi All,

I need a bit of advice.

I just noticed a small crack (about 1/2") on my OHC Distributor Cap plastic casing. This might have occurred when the car went through an accident in the recent past and the Honda guys probably failed to notice it.

However, my question is - should this damage be of any concern?

The local mechanic says the cap should be replaced ASAP as it may lead to the car stalling anytime the cap fails. As a temporary measure he has put some grease on it.

Altough this pic doesn't show the crack (as grease is already applied) - it gives a fair idea of the location.

Experts - please recommend course of action.
