tata cars are preety good VFM but these kinda incidences/failures make you think twice before buying any tata car . They may be the best indian car manufacture but theres still a long way to go to ..

What is SELF?
On a lighter note, the first time i read it, i thought it was yourself... (no offence meant.. just a humorous thought).

Mine is a April 2004 BSII. Still this happened. So maybe this could be earlier than BSIII.

The OEM battery can last upto 18 months or more...Don't ask me why..!

My lancer OEM Exide conked off with a weak cell in 2003 (2 years, 8 months, 28 days)

The replacement SF lasted me (2 years, 10 months, 3 days )

and the Current Exide..is On

I don't have any Heavy Electricals in the lancer, All OEM devices.

Even the Inverter Battery lasts on a Average of 2-3 years and then gets a weak cell or so..!

I think April 2004 onwards BS-III was made compulsory. You can check in your user manual whether the car has an electronic fuel pump with ecu
