Hey All,
Trust you had your loved car/bike had an amazing year :)
kinda reactivating this thread -
I still drive my Chevy Sail UVA petrol - with no complaints it has hit 36k on the odo, giving 14km/litre mileage
though, recently notice a Creech sound when I cold start the car, this sound only comes at a cold start, and disappears in 2nd start after a run for 15-20 minutes
a quick visit to the local mechanic revealed there is some component of flywheel ( bentex) that needs to be replaced, that's not tough -
the tough part is - where do I get it - Boodmo doesn't seem to have it!!
Quick suggestion needed;
1. have you come across such an issue and if you know any other way around this?

Guys,
I carried extensive engine overhaul for my 2011 Chevy Beat petrol using Chevrolet promise service camp with 20% discount. |
Nice. How long it took for the ASC to complete the job? . Why 2NO as quantity in front of timing chain?

20days in total. Left the car on Dec12th, and they started to remove engine and accessed required part to be changed.
17 working days including breaking open, lathe, re-assembling and trail runs.
Timing chain quantity was corrected in original invoice.
After running my Chevrolet Sail U-VA for 8 years, now I am facing the problem with parts.
I am looking for the following parts:
1. Throttle body - The engine vibrates badly when AC is turned on with RPM fluctuating and feels like it would stop when clutch is pressed to slow down vechile/change gears.
2. Front right shock absorber - I tried repairing it in one of the shock absorber shop but it started leaking oil after few months.
I have tried sourcing it from:
1. Authorized service centers in Bangalore - Most of them either said I will not get it or said it will take 3-6 months.
2. Boodmo - They keep changing the delivery date again and again.
3. Manu Automobiles - They said OEM won't be available. I need to get them the sample and they will see what is the closest match.
Anybody aware of any other source that I can try?
Also, is there a WhatsApp group of Chevrolet owners? It may be useful to exchange info.

Hi, I recently got a new throttle body from Boodmo for my 2015 chevy sail. I believe it is still available on the site, I am still facing the problem with rpm fluctuations (has decreased a lot) probably due to a bad/sticky accelerator cable (will have it checked out). I have observed my car stall when reversing, but I am not sure if it's a mechanical problem with the car or if it's my fault. I am also planning a suspension overhaul after it is mechanically sorted out.

I got my throttle body from KHT Chevrolet, Penya, Bangalore. They charged around Rs 10,000.
One thing I found out is that after any tinkering of throttle body, cleaning/replacement, it needs to be re-calibrated. The local garages do not re-calibrate and this results into continuation of the problem.
You probably have to go to a Chevrolet service center and get the car caliberated.
On suspension, my car's front right suspension had gone hard. I got it repaired in a local suspension shop in Yarab Nagar, Banashankari, for Rs 1500. However, it soon started leaking in 6 month or so. Though the suspension was working but the whole car was bumpy.
After replacement of the single front right suspension, I could feel the car to be much better.
Hi, sorry to wake up a sleeping thread
I just wanted to give an update on my Chevrolet Sail 2015
Current odo-93xxx, Age- 10 yrs
The next service is due in May
Background - I'm currently residing in Pune pursuing higher studies, and my car is back in my hometown where ASC does not exist. It is mainly used as a second/backup car (I mostly drive it).
During my current visit( 1st Feb), a humming noise was present in the cabin which turned out to be a wheel bearing and given the age of the car the suspension was also on it's way out. I ordered few parts from Boodmo which at last arrived.
Had my wheel bearing changed, which costed me 4200/- for bearing( quality product but why made in Korea?) and 800 for installation. The front shocks have also arrived but I'm in pune and my brother is going to get it fitted. Ordering and getting parts is burdensome (charging over mrp, delays etc). Finger crossed for the parts availability 🤞.
I will post a more in dept and detailed review about my ownership after refreshing all the maintenance part later this year.
