Hi
i also use a zen, which has done 1,70,000.km.I had also faced such type of problem after 1lackm.The car could not idle the average had also fallen to8to9km on the highway. But after detecting the problem it was with the return valve in the carb. But after changing the part it gives 15to17km on the highway with ac on.So please check the carb of ur zen.

Ravi,

I dont know of the maintainence schedules that you have followed for your Zen, and therefore cant gauge if the engine is due for a piston/ring replacement. But do get a cylinder compression test done.

Else, it may be a carb setting thing.

hi all
thanks gto and santosh for ur sugestions. car was given to servicing regularly. oils were changed time to time. technical guys say that compression is weak and it is common. i complain abt millage and they say it will improve but it never did. it returns me 10 with ac. i got frustated n got it gas converted 1 month back........ it is working good and costing me 1.8 to 2Rs/km as compaired to 3.8/km........
i dont know how good was my decision, but with this iam not burnning my pocket as of now.....
plz suggest me with any options.
once again thanks
regards
ravi

Re: Zen lost its Kick

Did you check the timing?
Has this appeared after doing a particular service or changing a particular part or did it just happen gradually?
The compression can also be lost because of bad piston rings.
