It is indeed heartening to see how nicely Tata has taken care of the entire situation. I remember Tata replacing the engine block of initial batch of Indicas at zero cost to consumer.

If they are aware of the issues and the root cause of the issue, why not do a similar recall and fix the problem proactively rather than wait for serious issues to occur. If the car loses power while overtaking or on a ghat section, the results may be disastrous. In the interest of safety, an immediate recall should be done.

Hope Tata is not doing what Ford did and doing a cost based analysis of voluntary replacement vs fixing only reported issues and putting a price on people's lives. While there are class action lawsuits in US to help the common man, the Judiciary system in India is pathetic for the common man. Hope no one had to resort to lawsuits.
