Recently my car got scratched on the rear door full length :-( ..its not very deep though.. is there any solution other than repainting for fixing this ?
Are there any good products out there in market for this ?
I searched on the web and found quite a lot of products but all of them sell abroad and not sure that would help or not ? Any body has good suggestions please share.

Thanks in advance

if you can feel the scratch with your fingertip then none of these products will help. Try to get the car buffed, the scratch will become light but repainting is the only option to get rid of it completely .

If it is not very deep, take help of a good touch-up worker, followed by rubbing & polishing. It will not make it disappear completely, but hardly noticeable.

or else repainting is the option.

If its too deep, buffinh wont help.

Painting a door would cost you 1400 bucks approx, with autho dealer it might be 4k.

good luck

If you can feel the scratch by your fingertip, than I am afraid but re painting the complete door seems be the only option for you.

Good thing is that i cannot feel the scratch with my finger tip... i guess touching should help ..Mine is a metallic black was wondering touching can be done on this ?

i can feel the scratch with my finger tips... i guess this would require a repaint job....was wondering had it been a minor scratch on the clear coat what are the solution for fixing the same ?

If you can try and get your hands on SONAX Paint Scratch Remover, it should solve your problem. Check with Methods they are the official distributors of Sonax in Bangalore.

While there are quick-fix solutions, the best quality option is repaint.

Anyways if u can't feel the scratch then go to your A.S.S n ask the body shop guy to give the scratch area some rubbing compound treatment....I think it should remove the scratch

@prashant: Sad part with metallic pain is that you cant do any touch up jobs, repainting is the only remedy.

Hi Hellcat,
where is Methods you are referring ... i have few small scratches in my car.

wanted to know abt Formula 1 Scratch Out.. have anyone used it...??? does it remove small scratches ???

I use Formula 1 scratch out..Its really affective for small scratches on light coloured cars...Doesnt work wonder on my car though. But it says is you can feel the scratch with your fingernail then it wont be effective

I bought it long time back (1 year), but havent been able to actually see how it helps, infact it enhances the small scratches by getting filled in it (its like a white chalk paste) and then your eyes can see the scratch better IMO.

@rishi, can you describe the steps to use it, perhaps I want using it properly.

Deepak this is the link for Methods
