Post ECM swap, check engine light is gone, there are no misfires and no pending DTC codes.
Will be monitoring it for next few days.

Thanks.

Below are my observations post couple of days of city drive and a longish (100+ kms) drive -
  • Climbing ghats is lot easier now. With 4 people and AC on, it does not get bogged down any longer and is fun to drive
  • Brake pedal feel has improved. Earlier I had to push brake pedal harder than usual and I thought that the brakes need cleaning
  • Occasional morning start issues have not resurfaced
  • Yet to measure change in fuel efficiency, but it should improve

Thanks.

Re: Did your FNG / ASC advise "ECM repair"? Is it a scam?

Hello Team-Bhp,
This is my very first post. Glad to be a part of the family.
Coming to the question, I bought Dzire VDi in Dec.2019.Few weeks back check engine light came up and went away after driving few KMs. Now it's been a week since CEL is glowing, went to ASC,they scanned the code (picture in attachment) checked all the wiring harness, fuel injectors(No issues to be found). They also swapped ECU of another same make car and told me that ECU needs to be replaced. Now my question is,can ECU be failed that easily? There is no indication of water in ECU. The car is ran only 30000k and 2.7 years old.I didn't get Extended warranty. Assuming ECU should last for lifetime (&not just 3 years)of the car i am about to file a case in court. Should i go for it?
Any kind of help is appreciated . Apologies for any mistakes I made in posting my first comment.

I am from Mumbai and facing ECM failure in my Passat. Would you know anyone who can repair VW ECM's in Mumbai please?
