Do cars drive smoother at nights??

Guys! Strange as it may sound, but did u you guys also ever experienced the same thing? I know its a silly question, but do you guys also feel that your car is always smoother at nights??

I own a swift, ceilo and alto, all seem to have better acceleration and smoother drive in the nights. Even if its my illusion; have any of you guys got the same feeling wth ur cars??

There's neither a scientific reason nor a logic to it, but still...

The air is denser and cooler at nights making your engine breathe efficiently

Whether the car feels smoother or not,I noticed i drive smoother at nights owing to lesser traffic, and more peace of mind when driving. In fact, we also started going out on night drives more often to enjoy the experience, also tagging along some family friends. Added bonus here was that my car returned me 14.6kmpl (!!) for so-called city driving conditions (also included about 40% of dense traffic).

that's the correct reason. cooler air to the engine means better mileage and better performance although marginally.

At night the temperature is less so the air is dense which means more Oxygen per volume of air and hence better combustion so a better ride. This is a marginal difference.

The real reason that i think is (applies to late nights). Less traffic so you drive smoothly.

Even I've felt it many times. Driving in the night makes the engine more responsive because of the cold air (realized it when I learnt how CAI's work, cold air intake = better performance by the engine).

I just feel that night driving is much more peaceful with not much traffic on the roads and this may sometimes give you a general feel that car is going smoother .

I am sure if the driving is for extended times, it certainely drives better due to the cool air available for the engine to breathe in.

The same is true for early morning drives you'll get more performance out of the engine and more speed, be it a car or a bike. And on air cooled engines, like a bike engine, there is a very noticeable difference in engine performance.
