Re: VW Polo GT TSI not cranking - ASC says DSG failure!!

Hi nova9

My suggestion would be to clean the multifuse located on the positive terminal of the Battery.

I feel like you shouldn't have trusted the diagnosis of VW A.S.S.

See below video to understand better.
It is from a channel in the Netherlands.

Hope it solves your problem.

Re: VW Polo GT TSI not cranking - ASC says DSG failure!!

Hi, i once owned the same car, a 2016 Polo GT TSI with 60k kms which suffered exact same problem - Blinking P on shifter, no crank at the floor of Authorised VW Service center itself.

After replacing the battery, they first diagnosed it to be a faulty starter motor and the service center did a U-Turn after a week claiming the final diagnosis as DSG mechatronics failure which made no sense.

Finally Towed it to a FNG where it turned out to be faulty brake pedal sensor (Error code showed up in VCDS for the module) hence no crank since you need to press the brake while cranking the car, please do get that checked out before proceeding to any other repair.

I am also facing a Mechatronics issue in my 2019 Octavia 1.8tsi. Its definetely a bad news as first of all consider your vehicle grounded for months as Skoda VW doesnt have this part available. I am waiting from 60+ days. Secondly, since you are out of warranty you are looking at ~1L cost.

Welcome to the ill-famed DSG issue club.

Mechatronics issue in a nutshell leads to wrong command being passed to gearbox. E.g. in my case the D would not engage once moved from P position. But if I press the clutch 4-5 times it would engage. So basically command to gearbox is misfired from clutch.

Thankfully my wait was about 20 days, post which they took 2 more days to hand me the car. The bill was 1.1 lacs

Re: VW Polo GT TSI not cranking - ASC says DSG failure!!

Hey folks,

I own a Polo TSI with a manual transmission that seems to be experiencing a peculiar issue. The engine cranks but doesn't start on the first attempt; however, it starts during the second crank. The VW service center replaced my fuel pump, and initially, it resolved the problem for a week. Unfortunately, the issue resurfaced, and the car mostly starts on the second crank. There are no engine lights or EPC lights indicating a problem.

The VW service center is currently investigating the issue but has been unable to identify and fix it.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
