Re: Proper PDI done first| Post 2nd PDI just before Registration noticing paint/scratch | Need advic

I would suggest to do a paint touch up and move on. Push for some freebies from the dealer. Painting the whole door for a minor scratch like this won't be good idea.

This is very minor scratch. If i would be in your place, I asked them to fix the scratch and move on with the vehicle. Down the line during ownership, such scratches will bound to happen, come what may. Please do not spoil your mood and enjoy the vehicle. The scratch is in such a place where its not too much perceivable if corrected.

My car washing guy accidently put scratched on many vehicles in my society complex as he was wearing watch and belt while doing his job, but now i could not see those scratches anymore. Seems like self healing (of minor scratches) might be happening in paint.

Insurance is not a big deal because you'll get a grace period to cancel without any fees or deductions. You can have a look at your insurance policy wordings or contact your insurer directly with the issue at hand.

My suggestion would be to accept the car as it is and force the dealer to throw in some freebies like extended warranty or free service incl. consumables or even some accessory that you might be keen on.

Don't let the dealer "try and fix" this scratch for you.
They will most definitely make it worse.

On a side note this could be your "nazar-battu". No need for a nimboo-mirchi to ward off evil.

They are already working on it & I have little control over it at this point of time , I hope they dont make it worse

The first of many to come, let it be on this particular car or a replacement.
Live with it for now, and when you accumulate a few more over ownership, get them all done together in a single insurance claim

Re: Proper PDI done first| Post 2nd PDI just before Registration noticing paint/scratch | Need advic

Like some of the members highlighted above, I went in to check the fix they did & they did a shoddy job at fixing the problem. Further the way they fixed it, it also now has a minor dent on the same location.

I've asked for a complete replacement of door/panel as this was completely unacceptable to me. I also escalated the issue to higher mgmt .

Needless to say, Painful experience with these people so far. Will update further.

Lessons learnt :

Never make full payment upfront in good faith [ especially if going for loans ] & only go for insurance a day before registration once you are happy with the vehicle.

Never allow them to perform a quick fix, the mess it up even more.

Sorry to hear about the horrible experience you have had so far with these scammers.

If the work done on the door is really bad, just don’t accept the car. Push for a replacement. I’m sure there would be ways to cancel your loan otherwise. Insurance will be easy to cancel.

Re: 1st PDI is a success | 2nd PDI shows some paint damage | Now what?

Having owned a kia for some time now, there will be sparse action in case you are interacting with the dealer directly, Write to Kia India support and post on their social media handles and you will have a faster resolution. At least in my case, that is what i have observed.

Best of luck

Just an update :

Exactly what I did, Reached out their higher mgmt as I had few contact leads. Their relaxed approach to this sped up substantially once escalation was done.

They agreed to replace the entire door for me & I should be able to recheck in a day or two. Once confirmed, will go in for registration & further formalities.

Re: 1st PDI is a success | 2nd PDI shows some paint damage | Now what?

Finally after some escalations, back and forth communication, finally got the door replaced. Went in for another inspection & Looked fine to me from multiple angles.

- Verified door alignment
- No dent , paint issue or undulations at the spot . Giving benefit of doubt that they did actually replace the door .

- Asked them to be careful going forward till I take delivery .
Big sigh of relief , Gave a go ahead for registration.

Thanks everyone for the valuable inputs !

Next step is to decide on PPF or Ceramic
