Re: The best sounding naturally-aspirated engines

Everyone here is doing cars, I don't know whether this would be accepted here or not, but I would like to mention a couple of motorcycles here.

Whenever someone asks me what is the best sounding motorcycle, I would definitely say that it is the Honda CBX. 1000cc inline-6 DOHC powerhouse from the 70s! Most of the senior riders would say that the bike has a very F1 racecar-like sound.

My next personal favorite would be the Honda's RC211V. Everything just flows in that motorcycle! The engineering behind it, the shape it's been given, and to top it all off, Rossi riding it to his victories, everything screams iconic on this motorcycle! I was introduced to this machine in the '02 MotoGP PC game. It sounded so good and moved so good, so it became my default choice on most of the races I chose to play.

Re: The best sounding naturally-aspirated engines

The two engine sound that are so enriching for my ears anong the whole are -

1. 5.9L V12 of Aston Martin Vanquish & DB9.

2. 3.0L VTEC V6 of Honda NSX(1990-2005). It is my personal favourite as the sound of the engine with 5 speed manual downshifts, really pleases my ears..

How about the Vtwins. A big Vtwin sounds very very good, up there with the V4s may be only slightly behind. Especially the Ducs and the early Aprilia Milles.

Re: The best sounding naturally-aspirated engines

As a fan of naturally aspirated engines, here are my top picks,

1. Lexus LFA - its the best sounding engine of all time, c'mon.
2. Porsche Carrera GT - sounds maniacal, and its second to the LFA .
3. Ford Mustang Mach 1 2021 - The 5.0 V8 with Shelby parts sounds brutal.
4. Porsche 911 GT3RS/911 ST - A NA Flat 6 from Porsche sounds like heaven, especially at 9000 rpm!!
5. Corvette C7 - Even the normal LS in the Stingray versions sounds mean, especially when you floor the gas.
6. Corvette C8 Z06 - The American supercar that sounds like a Ferrari. Love it.
7. Audi RS4 B7 - Low V8 rumble when driving slowly, but screams at higher speeds.
9 Mercedes AMG C63 W204 - Another sedan from this era, the 6.2 monster in this is super loud bone stock and embodies the V8.
10. BMW M5 E60 - A sedan/estate with a NA V10. Cant get better than this. The US versions were manual only. Even better!
11.Lamborghini Huracan - Cant find words to describe it.
12. Ferrari 458 - My favorite Ferrari of all time for a reason. The engine is in the name!

And while I do like V12'S, I am a V8 and V10 fanboy. Sorry : )
