Weird issue with Nexon AMT petrol Hi Guys,
This is my first thread at team bhp if it gets approved. I did search for an existing topic but didn’t find anything that matched completely with the issue, hence creating a new thread.
The issue is with one of my acquaintance’s TATA Nexon AMT which is less than 2 years old. A few days back the car had met with an accident at a signal and was sent for repairs to the service center. The day the car was handed over it was taken to a nearby mall where a weird thing started happening. The car started repeatedly saying “City drive mode activated” with each time it getting progressively distorted like it’s losing power. Also the amt would keep dropping into neutral after a min or two. It wouldn’t even go into manual mode. Weird grinding noises were coming from the drivetrain as well. Somehow the car was driven to our parking and next day towing was arranged. When I drove the car from parking to the tow vehicle it drove absolutely fine like it had no issues.
Now at the service center, first they took 4-5 days just to analyse the issue, which they said is something to do with the battery and drive mode selector. Now they are saying it is a battery issue and since the car is in warranty they can’t replace the battery, they have to get it repaired which will take another 10 days. I’m sorry but is there even a thing as getting a battery repaired? Also, something that can be replaced so quickly is to be repaired in its own sweet time just because the owner took warranty? We explained that we need the car early, since 10 days is a lot of time, also the car was already at the service center for quite sometime for bodywork, which again was a horrible experience in itself, the very next day of its release it went straight back. All in all it’s around 20 days. We also suspect that this issue might have happened at the service center itself when the car was sent for bodywork. Need you guys’ inputs as to what we can do over here.
Thanks! |
