Varying Palio tail lamp price?

My Palio's tail lamp got cracked yesterday.A part dealer in market quoted Rs 1500,but according to July month's ACI,it should be Rs 770.So I called auth. dealers, but got different quotes from there as well, one is asking Rs 970 and another Rs 1612.How can it be possible?Obviously, dealers making profits due to part shortage.http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/images...s/confused.gif

While im not sure about details, I know for a fact that older taillamps were 3 bulb units, and later cars had a 4th top mounted brake light. PM moralfibre for accurate details.

Absolutely right. The pre nv palios tail lamp should be a little cheaper than the post nv ones. But Are these interchangeable?

There are two types of tail lights in the Palio for details check this thread. The correct price is between Rs. 850/- to Rs. 1100/- somewhere and for sure it is not Rs. 1612/- because that is the cost of headlights without the levelling mechanism. Mebbe your dealer got confused between front taillights and rear headlights . Is the dealer an authorised service center? If yes teach him the difference in pricing and bang the remains of your broken tail lamp on his head.

I havent been to samyak but my experience with Vivek has been nice. I have heard that samyak is also good. In my opinion you can go for anyone of them who is quoting a cheaper rate.

The prices will come down once the light is localized. Currently this is manufactured by AL in the same plant that manufactures lamps of Audi et al.

Given the current production and sales figures of Stile, it is doubtful if the light will be localised unless Fiat promises a big export order to the prospective vendor.

Got the light fitted today at HIM motors.Total cost Rs 1015 inclusive of labour charges. This lamp is manufactured by Lumax.Fit and finish is nowhere even close to original lamp.My car has 3 bulb version, but as it was not available,I agreed to 4 bulb version.First they fitted a lamp cracked from inside. When I pointed, they even argued that its a minor thing. When I refused to buy, they took me to store. There they had only 2 other lamps, one was sliightly broken and other lamp had greasy finger prints from inside. As there was no other option,I had to opt for one, with finger print.I got it fitted then, but now at home,I'm really feeling bad about it.
