Air filter got wet in Octavia 1.9 TDI

Hi,
I had to drive through 2 feet water yesterday in my octy in the middle of night. After few meters car started like coughing. Somehow I made it to home and opened the air filter box and found it soaked. Should I just dry and clean the filter and put it back or should I do something else. I love my car.

Don't start the car again. Get it towed to the a.s.s and get it checked.

Gentlemen he already DROVE home after the water crossing.
Ostensibly nothing very serious happened (lucky!).
Now of course a full inspection (open the oil pan/chamber) and clean-up (if required) would be in order. Tappet cover should also be taken off and valve gear checked.
The ASC will know all this......

Thanks all for your sound advice. The car engine is quite ok. Service guy checked and started. Engine oil gear oil is ok. Though the car is not movable yet. The clutch got stuck as it got wet. The service guy told to keep it under sun for one day and then after putting it into 3rd gear to crank it several time. If it doesn't work then they have to tow the car and open the clutch housing.
