Help me with the windshield wiper scratches

Folks,

I got a 97 Opel Astra with wiper scratches like the ones on a Vinly Record.

Due to this I just have to shudder the brakes when driving at night on highways as visibility gets zero due to the oncoming lights. And when it rains.. its unimaginable at night.

Windwhield Experts say I gotta replace the w/s. But is there a simple solutions?

Can I just take the car to a glass dealer (there are many) and get it polished with their power tools?

Pls help. I don wanna spend unecessarily as it wont improve the car's resale.

Due to this I have driven over many a pot holes and riskyly driven off the roads too sometimes!
