re: Swift Tyre Pressure?

=> 33 or 32 Ride will definatley be Bummpy on a Swift.
=> Ideal would be 30 , but its much comfortable at 29-28 combination (but only for 2 person load).
=> Anything less is surely a drag for the car under normal roading conditions.

Swift VXI manufacturer recommended pressure for stock tyres is 33.

And stick to 30 psi minimum to avoid tyre wear. Do check the calibration of the pressure machine coz i have seen variance of upto 6 pounds between the electronic machines

re: Swift Tyre Pressure?

You cant, atleast very scientifically and accurately. What i do is watch the tyre wear and ride with different pressure setting with the same machine, till am satisfied. Once i even drove around immediately, and covered the remaining petrol pump air stations in the close perimeter to get an idea about the variations.

It was a pain when i shifted house, had to first set the pressure at my old pump then drive to the new one and calibrate the readings in my head. Driving will alter the pressure, so with a lil bit of tweak i arrived at the new figure. Difference from my old to new pump is 1 psi. But a pump which was 1 kms from old showed +6 psi readings!

Hope i did not confuse you.

re: Swift Tyre Pressure?

I was using 33 psi in front and 31 psi at the rear for my Swift Vdi. My tyres are 185/70/R14. Found the steering to be a little too heavy. Increased the front tyre pressure to 34 psi. Now the steering seems ok.

Tyre pressure in Swift ZXi

Just bought the new Swift ZXi 2014 that launched in November. It's been about 15 days so still getting the feel of it before I do a review. However, one thing that I have found really annoying so far is the ride quality which feels really bumpy, I read in one of the forums here that the showrooms really fill up the tyres quite a bit before delivering which I presume is causing the bumpy ride. I understand that the Swift has harder suspensions which may not make it super comfortable for city driving but I am sure the tyre pressure can help.

Any suggestions on what pressure should I go with for the following?

1. In City - Full Load / Normal Load
2. On Highway - Full Load / Normal Load

Also, should I change the tyre pressure depending on weather? I live in Bangalore.

Follow the car manual and play with 1-2 psi here and there. Its obvious that low air pressure would make the ride less bumpy but avoid going beyond 2 psi than recommended.

As suggested by "fine69", see the Tyre Placard on the B-Pillar beside the drivers seat.

If the air filling station is near to place you reside then +1 psi from the suggested and if it a bit far (warm tyre condition) then do a +2 psi from the suggested.

I drive a Swift ZDi, the suggested is F=31 psi and R=29 psi. These are "Cold Tyre pressure". I fill in F=33 psi and R=31 psi all the time irrespective of the weather conditions.

Anurag.
