Was just reading up fordindiablogspot and came across a extermely interesting technology in offing from Tata in near future.

Tata Motors has just entered into a licensing deal with Torotrak providing it with the rights to apply Torotrak's traction drive technology.

The licence gives Tata non-exclusive rights to develop and manufacture transmissions which contain Torotrak's technology in Tata branded and co-branded products and also allows Tata Motors to manufacture and sell transmissions to other customers of Torotrak in the Indian market.

The license at present is pending Indian regulatory approval and would take a few months atleast to clear the various legal hurdles.
