Power steering oil leakage in Santro

Hi All,

I have a 3 yr old Santro Xing and it has done 25100 Kms. Today I gave it for servicing and was later told that there was power steering oil leakage. They told me that a seal had leaked. The whole power steering assembly costs around 18,000. In my case they told me that they would just have to replace a kit and that would cost between 1500-2000.

Considering that my car has been used less, is this a normal phenomenon?

Regards

Components do fail at times.

Have you been holding your steering at locks often?

I do it pretty often while manoeuvring the car and didn't know that it was harmful.

Now that I have spent 2000+ on repairs, I have learnt the lesson the hard way.
