LPG conversion for Maruti Zen LXi 2004 model

Hi all,

I am thinking of converting my Maruti Zen LXi 2004 model to LPG.

Here is the current stats of the car:

Current Kms run: 35000 kms
Current mileage: 13-14 in City/15-16 in highways
My usage: Mostly highways
Average run per month: 1500 kms

Its MPFI.

Please advise is it a right choice to convert it to LPG, if yes, which LPG kit to go for. I am thinking of a budget of not more that 20k and is it worth spending this amount so that I could save cost on fuel.

I am ok for 5-10% power loss. And also dont want to do any harm to engine.

Please help me...

Thanks in advance

A little search would help...!!!

The running is fine to convert, but LPG gives you a slightly lesser mileage than Petrol, you save on the cost difference-but then saving is saving.

Good kits are Lovato,Minda Impco,Bedini,Land Renzo,Tartarani.

Ensure you buy genuine OEM Equipment,Pref check Manufacturing date on each component-Reducer,Solenoid,Emmulator,LPG Control ECU if installed as a Closed Loop system.

No harm as such documented, but do run in petrol occassionally, pref start in petrol drive for a KM and convert to LPG-Same for Shutdown.

You will need to have New Airfilter,SparkPlugs,Throttle Cleaning done for the proper setup and efficiency.

Also look at using Castrol Magnatec or Mobil/Shell Synthetic for smoother and protected engine over regular mineral oil.
