GETZ low fuel warning lamp- does it work

I have my doubts whether the low fuel warning lamp of Getz is working properly. I was told by the dealer that the lamp will get triggered as soon as the fuel left in the tank is close to 5 litres. But this doesnt seem to be the case. Getz fuel tank is 45litres capacity. I filled full tank yesterday. Filled 42litres+. But the warning lamp was not on going by the dealer's words. I have seen this irregularity every time I fill the tank. I checked the road where i parked the car and found that to be flat. So there is no way that the sensors can give a wrong signal.

Anyone has faced this problem? Solution for the same appreciated.
