Help! Corsa 1.4 engine temp rise

My 27K corsa 1.4 engine temperature rises close to red mark.

I found that cooling fan switches on its own after driving for some distance and the temp starts rising. so i switch on AC, and the cooling fan starts and them engine temp goes back to normal.

Anybody got any clue?

The Corsa has a tendency to heat up. But its quite normal. Even I got worried when I got my new car but the GM guys said there's nothing to worry about. It'll go close to the red mark but it won't touch the red mark. Just keep checking yout coolant level. Don't worry.

OT: I might need some help from you and your car in Bangalore.

Are you noticing this for first time after about 27k km? Then get it checked. But the sundaram has become useless nowadays. You will need to book an appointment like some 20 days before.

Only twice i saw the temp needle go beyond 1/2 way mark. Once it was when I redlined at first gear. After a while it cooled down to normal temp. The second time it went close to red line for no obvious reason. Then found there was no coolant left in the container, which was because of a leaky hose.

This is how i define normal temp gauge position for corsa. On highway cruising it stays at 1/4th mark. In peak traffic, it stays just below 1/2 way mark.

I don't think temp hitting red is normal. Check it out as soon as possible.

Well, my temp usually stays just above the halfway mark and ocassionaly goes beyond, but never touches the red mark. I even reffered to the owners manual which states that this is normal as the temp gauge gives readings from the coolant chamber and it happens because the coolant chamber is pressurized.

dont know corsa specific but check if the temp guage hits red, my iKON had this funny problem and this was diagnosed to a faulty temp sensor.

Did you mean to say the Radiator fan comes on its own? OR it comes ON after you switch ON AC?

If latter please check Fuses.
