Yes, if the g forces are more than what the engine can hold, then the vehicle will roll down the slope, when the engine is switched off.

Hmmn, Embera I believe weighs about 1.7 k kgs. So will that happen on 20 degree slopes as well and that too in reverse, ideally should not reverse gear stop the forward motion. Thanks for clarifying.

Very helpful topic. I usually switch off the vehicle and then leave it in neutral with handbrake on. But after reading many advises here, I shall follow them. Thank You.

Just wondering, but what happens if you park in gear with the handbrake on and someone tows your car. The newer cars are hard to break into (to release the brake) and this might result in damage, no?
