How to find the exact Shade for your vehicle's paint job

This is only if your manufacturer is using DUPont products.

Goto this DUPont site and goto the Colour retrieval link.

I was able to find for mine.

I was also surprised to find that they have a "Automotive Refinish Training Center" in Bangalore.

Quote:
The main focus of the DuPont Refinish Training Center will be to improve the color matching skills, day to day trouble shooting in the painting job undertaken, including the proper surface preparation and spray painting techniques to help enhance the quality of the collision repair.

I contacted Dupont to refer one of their trained bodyshops in bangalore.

Spoke to their ASM and he promptly suggested a dealer and multi-brand bodyshop trained at their refinish center and well versed with their paint matching and finishing techniques.

Never thought the response would be so prompt though. Good CS DUPont.

No as suggested from someone in the industry, for bodywork get it done outside and mechanical/ enginework with the A.S.S.

The A.S.S charge almost double of what you will pay outside and suggest more work than is required, only you need to find a reliable and good paint matchers which these trained multi-brand bodyshops excel in.

Great find!!

The site does not give match for Hyundai Getz.

Fast Cars seem to be authorized for Hyundai aswell.
In the address of Fast Cars on bannerghatta rd the location is mentioned as opposite IIM Bangalore, where as in Google maps its shown far behind IIM Bangalore. Can someone give the exact directions?

These directions were provided by deepakpatil to me, as his office is near to them. He also made an exceptional effort of going to them and getting their address/ contacts, so we should thank him.

This is in the lane opposite to Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bangalore on Bannerghatta Road. There is one Mitsubishi Showroom called Lathangi Motors opposite to IIM. Fast Cars is at the end of the lane adjacent to Lathangi Motors

It been taken over by Asian PPG now and they use a brand called Deltron for Automotive Polyurethane paints.

Even they have training centers like Dupont.
Quote:
Asian PPG set up a separate training and support structure for Deltron. This includes dedicated manpower for Deltron field servicing and a centralized technical support team, amongst other things.

Regular body shop audits/ surveys provide inputs not only on painting processes but also on bodyshop layouts etc.
Have PM'ed you the CS contact, please contact them directly.

Like I had mentioned earlier here's a quote from the automotive paint OEM:
Quote:
In conventional NC finishes one needs to repaint a whole door for a small touch-up job, where as in Polyurethane paints, a small scratch can be repaired because of the possibility of good shade match at a slightly higher price. This reduces the cost of the material used, the time taken and finally the customer is fully satisfied to receive an exact match, in a short time and a little higher price.
Most paint used nowdays are Polyurethane but still these A.S.S. guys suggest to paint the whole door, the whole bumper and the whole side.

Its time that we get educated on this.
