Hi,

Sorry this is the only diagram I have provided by D2 Racing. AM not sure about the ABS part as have not fitted the same on any vehicle in India yet.

Viper

What would be the diagram for a diagonal/dual-circuit arrangement?

Hi all

I think that as per diagram, it can not be fitted in a abs equipped car. The reason is simple, if you have a look at an abs distributor, you have an hydraulic hose per wheel, otherwise, how can you control a single wheel locking? The only way to do that is to have an abs that can be switched off and use a second calliper on the disc or one designed to be operated double hydraulic. You can intercept also the two hoses going to rear wheels, and put a double pump lever, but abs has to be off or the hose pressure, will be reduced as soon as the sensor measure a wheel lock...

Is it worth the trouble to fit a hyd hand brake.Viper whats your opinion buddie?

Another use / name for the handbrake is "Emergency brake" - and it works as exactly that in case the main braking system fails (including the built in redundancy that most systems have).
If the handbrake/e-brake was hydraulic as well - it would not be a true e-brake right?

I think the advantage of this hydraulic handbrake is that comparatively very little travel/effort is required to lock the rear wheels - useful for tight road courses, rallies etc ... correct me if i am wrong.

...and if you want to push it further, it would also be "weight saving" since you would not need those rear drum shoes anymore for the handbrake (on cars with discs all around) etc
