Re: WD 40 = Performance Increase?

WD 40 is available in any hardware shop.
If bolts are jammed then spray it on the thread (if possible) and leave it wet for couple of hours before trying to unscrew it. Another method is to tap it lightly with a hammer, then spray again. Do it couple of times. Also try heating it with a hair dryer.

Someone else did, not me.
There was a query here yesterday from a CBZ owner who couldn't find WD-40 anywhere in Delhi. Somehow that post has vanished, maybe the mods can explain.

Re: WD 40 = Performance Increase?

I used WD-40 for my dead firewire port in PC. It started working. Firewire port was giving problems due to rust and dust. All USB ports, SATA cables work properly when they get a wash of WD-40.

My cars seat was squeaking previously but spray fixed it. Same goes with Bonnet as well.

It is really useful spray. It was hard to find it in Pune hardware shop but I found it in my hometown and it is available in every hardware shop in my small town.

Here is the link for usage of it in automobiles Chip Foose Hot Rods & Collectable Cars | WD-40 SEMA Cares Project
1) Lubricates Moving Parts and protect them too. Can be used on Suspension and other moving parts
2) Useful for getting shining black tires and for shiny metal parts
3) Of course for removing bolts and nuts
4) Can be used for cleaning Dashboard, upholstery too
5) If sprayed on engine or other parts removes rust, grease marks and protects them further.

WD-40, which works wonders as a lubricant, is also a multi-purpose cleaner, penetrant, moisture displacer and rust preventative. The product has been reported by many consumers to be a great product to keep a car clean, both inside and out. It's effective in removing tar, mud and other deposits from chrome and painted surfaces without harming the finish.

WD-40 also works great on a car’s grill to remove or prevent build-up of splattered bugs and grime. It will even remove old bumper stickers with ease. A spray of WD-40 on the hood or roof and a rinse with soapy water will also remove tree sap or bird droppings.

WD-40 also works well in the car's interior. If the upholstery or carpet has been soiled with crayon or greasy fingerprints, a spray of WD-40 on the affected area and a gentle rubbing with a cloth can remove the stain. It is also used to remove gum stuck in carpeting or between seats. It is suggested to wash with soap and water after removal.

So skip the expensive car care products for now and take care of many car cleaning needs with this one versatile product that is probably already somewhere around the house.

And while cleaning the car, other needs such as lubricating hinges, stopping annoying squeaks and freeing a stuck antenna can be handled with WD-40 as well.

Good ol' times. Now such a thread will be immediately deleted and goons, high on 97-octane unleaded petrol will be sent to thrash the OP.
