Supercharging

Since there are so many people on this forum who have tried forced induction methods like turbocharging on their cars, is there anyone who has tried supercharging on their cars or bikes? By supercharger I dont mean the centrifugal compressor supercharger which technically behaves like a turbo, I mean the roots and lysholm or any of those +ve displacement types? Are there any small enuff roots blowers available? I was very keen on supercharging my p180, but sold it off now. Still I'd like to know if anyone has come across such a project.
