After gas filling the AC is working perfectly fine. Will watch it for a few days and see.

Yes they charge you so much, i paid and did the job way back in 90's and regretted like hell, it took 3 months first. When they fitted it back, my grill got a puncture, which set me back another 10k. Then in one month the overhauled comp packed up, i sold the car then and there and picked up a zen lol.

I suggest you approach an after market AC expert and look for alternative or replace with a new compressor.

ps: i never thought it would be your comp bearing, i thought it would be the AC fan motor/bearing
